I needed a few blocks of wood for a recent project I was working on. I purchased an untreated fence post at Home Depot for only $7.00 and they cut it into 4-inch cubes for me at no extra cost – it worked out perfectly. However, I did end up with some leftover cubes – so you might notice a theme running through the next couple of projects…
Something fun for the desk; a 4-inch cube of wood is now a holder of temporary scribbles and notes.
Lightly sand the sides and edges of your block, dust clean with a dry brush and apply a few coats of chalkboard paint.
I drilled a 2-inch deep hole into the cube – this serves as the perfect chalk holder. This would make a nice end of year gift for a teacher.
My kids love this.
