Hanging a disco ball in our garage has created a great spot for impromptu parties and goofing around.

The Party Lights Mirror Ball Kit from Party City comes with an 8-inch mirrored ball, rotating motor, colored filters and spot light -- it takes a minute to hang up and looks amazing. We love it!!

The kids and their friends are having a blast hanging out in our garage disco - it's a space unlike any other.

Even Dad is into it! My husband broke his wrist a few weeks ago, but that doesn't stop him from gettin' down in here (much to the amusement/embarrassment of the kids).

Daft Punk is a favorite here.

Lots of balloons give the space a party feel and encourage the kids to play.

My daughter invited some friends over on Friday for party in the disco. A table on one side of the garage creates a spot to sit, chat and grab a bite to eat.

To create interesting mood lighting on the table, I made this centerpiece from air-filled water balloons, battery operated LED lights and a glass globe (all from Party City). To make this, just inflate and knot 12 water balloons. Create 6 pairs by tying two balloons together. Make a cluster by twisting the paired balloons together where they are joined. Tuck battery operated LED light into center of balloon cluster and place in a glass globe.

It's funky and the kids love it.

To create additional lighting that's both safe and easy, I just flipped some colorful plastic cups over bright LEDs (both from Party City).

A summer they'll always remember.

From the outside, it's just a regular garage - but thanks to Party City there's always a party going on inside!

WOW… just WOW! I don’t think my boys would be as thrilled as the girls are… but I would love this. A dance floor! Right outside the house. With no rain! Only problem… where do we put the stuff that is filling the garage? We can’t even get the silly car in there. I suppose if I won, I’d have to empty and paint the garage to create the dance hall. Since I’m not in the US, I don’t have to worry about putting another huge job on my summer “to do” list. Phew! Suppose I’ll just have to dance in the yard with the skeeters.

Fun! My niece just mentioned the other day how fun it was the summer we made car s’mores, inspired by your idea. This looks like another idea that’s right up our alley. Thanks for the inspiration.

Without a doubt, you win the “Coolest Mom EVER” award. I am constantly amazed and inspired by the creative while yet being inexpensive things you come up with.

I know a few kids that would love to dance under their very own disco ball! Thanks so much for the opportunity!
