Mussel shells, saved from a dinner with good friends, are on display in a silver compote. To clean shells – soak them in bleach and water. Drain and boil in water for 1 hour to remove any residue and odor.

In our home paintbrushes are frequently used and always on hand. I love the way they look and drop them into all types of vessels around the house.

    what a great idea to put old wine cords in an apothecary jar! mine are just sitting in the bottom of my fruit bowl hoping for a better home. where did you get your apothecary jar?

      Thanks! Apothecary jars are so popular right now – they can be found at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Target and specialty shops – I picked mine up at TJ Maxx.
