Chalkboard Planter

The next time you have an empty cardboard canister on your hands — give it a quick coat of chalkboard paint and turn it into a cool planter that makes a great teacher gift…

The kids will love to make one of these for their teacher – be sure to give with a stick of chalk.

I topped it off with a handful of jingle bells.

I used an empty Enfamil canister. Begin by removing the label – it pulls off easily.

Using a sponge brush, I applied a few coats of Martha Stewart chalkboard paint (craft stores). Let it dry for a few hours and then place potted plant inside.

No need to add soil, just place potted plant inside of canister — remove to water.

Add your message, tie on a stick of chalk and give. The kids will love this – so easy to do and they can add their individual touch.

What a great idea. I need to remember this when I go back to work as a teacher. Kids would love it.
