Soda Can Cube Lights

We drink a lot of seltzer water in our home; we end up with many cans in our recycling bin. I thought I’d reuse them to create a bit of interesting lighting for the holidays…

Something different for the table — seltzer water cans are hammered into cubes, pierced and sprayed with gold paint.

I like they way these look like they could be made from paper – they definitely trick the eye.

I used a knife to cut the can in half.

I folded in the rim to create a more finished look.

Using a block of wood as my mold, I hammered the can into a cube shape.

With a nail and hammer, I pierced all four sides.

A quick coat of gold spray paint is the final step.

Tea lights illuminate the cubes from within.

Dark and light with a shimmer of gold make these perfect for a holiday table.

Thank you So Much for sharing! I’ve been saving some halloween soda cans for ages, and this is a Perfect diy for them! I didn’t want to make boring pencil holders, and I new deep down that if I just wait long enough, something better will show up 😀
