Dog Tag Memory Necklace

Last week, friends of ours had to say goodbye to their beloved dog of 11 years, Tashie. She was a rescue who was given a full life of love and wonderful care, but the loss is still very painful for our friends. It’s as if a family member has passed away in their lives. Their youngest daughter, Carly, had a fantastic idea to help her through this period of grief — she made Tashie’s dog tag into a necklace. Very simple, but brilliant idea. Carly simply strung the tag onto a cord and wears it around her neck now. A touching gesture that keeps the memory of Tashie close to heart at all times. I had to share this idea with you. XO, Camilla

The dog tag from a recently passed

The dog tag from a recently passed pet is now a necklace.

The bond between a child and a pet is so strong. Many times it is their first lesson in loving and losing.

What an awesome thing to do! I’ve kept all the dog tags from my pets over the years – perhaps a charm memory bracelet? Thanks so much to you and Carly for sharing this.
