Teen 411

Raising a teenage girl is tricky territory. Recently, my daughter actually covered her ears to my step-by-step instructions on how to properly shave her legs. Frustrating. I had to take a deep breath, walk away and rethink my strategy. I decided to get outside help, I found this and sent the link to her email. I casually snuck some peaks at her from another room, as I watched her read the article from beginning to end. She gave it her full and complete attention. “Thanks, that was good”, she said when she was done reading it. Over the next few days, she recited a few facts from her newfound information source and we had little discussions about it here and there. From this experience I felt the most satisfying calm. I helped her, she learned, and now she wasn’t going to cut herself to shreds as she began her new life as a young woman with hairless legs.

This is how my Teen 411 Pinterest board was born. I am steadily collecting information to help me and my daughter get through these interesting teenage years. If you’re in the same boat, be sure to check it out. XO, C
