Thank you to Target for supporting Family Chic with this sponsored post. Although I am being compensated for my work, the ideas presented here are my own. You can follow along at #TargetWedding.

For all stages of family life Target has been the go-to store for us. When my husband and I bought our first place, we excitedly feathered our nest with new sheets, decorative pillows and dishes all from Target. When we found out we were expecting, I was thrilled to find affordable and stylish maternity clothes for myself and adorable clothes, bedding, toys, etc. for my new baby. The momentum continued as our family has grown – my girls are now 9 and 13 and we still find ourselves heading off to Target for school supplies, clothes, sports equipment, birthday gifts – it’s almost reflexive. Family life and Target are somewhat inseparable.

So, when Target asked me to make a few suggestions from their Target Wedding Registry that I felt reflected the excitement of all that married life holds – it was easy. Target carries it all.

When my husband and I purchased our home, a Weber grill was one of the first items we bought. We were thrilled to have an outdoor space to use for gardening and entertaining – it was so new and wonderful. We grilled outside whenever the weather would permit – we still do! (Weber One Touch Silver Charcoal Grill, $79.99-$99.99)

One of our first gifts to arrive after we announced our engagement was a set of steak knives from a former coworker and an entire set of pots and pans from my mom and dad. I was so excited to be stocking my kitchen with the supplies that would help me build my culinary skills, find my own style and nourish my family (Calphalon Kitchen Essentials).

I never wanted super fancy china. Instead, my husband and I chose a basic set with clean lines that could be dressed up for more formal dinners. This 16-piece set from Threshold ($59.99) is just my style – you can always add other basic white pieces to a set like this.

  6. Athena Rayner  February 17, 2014

I think a keurig coffee maker would make an excellent gift or a nice set of flatwear like the Oneida Camlynn set.

  7. Julie  February 17, 2014

A beautiful crock pot…and Target has some beauties! I just bought one for my DIL and it is very stylish!!!

In our twenty-three of marriage we have been through many blenders. Our current is the Ninja. This “Blends, Beats, Smoothes, Chops” so very well. It is my favorite thus far and has lasted the longest. On line priced at $99 it’s a definite great value.

I would definitely go with some new bedding. A new comforter would be especially wonderful!

  11. kristen  February 19, 2014

Loved your picks! We too have all white dishes and I love them so so much. I would choose some new Corning Ware baking dishes. Target has some fun colors – like red! 🙂

  12. mimi  February 21, 2014

Target has some great accent tables which would be a fun gift!

my husband and i recently moved from a big house in a small town to a small apartment in a big town (portland, maine, is too small to be a “city” right?). though all of our bedding came from target and i really want most every pattern every season from Nate Berkus, storage is currently the bane of my existence in our new small space.
i have my eye on those baskets. i need four or five of them to fit across the lowest shelf on the shelving unit in my studio/dining room. as long as the stripes are consistent, i believe i would enjoy looking at and utilizing those pretty little things.

For my daughter’s wedding registry, I’d love to include the VITAMIX PROFESSIONAL SERIES 500 BLENDER [in Brushed Stainless, please]. It can do SO MANY things . . . . crush ice, knead dough, blend smoothies and frozen desserts, make hot soup from scratch, grind nut butter, and more, all in the same container!

The thing most on my list is a KitchenAid Mixer! Target has some awesome colors available and it’s so very versatile. I loved your list-definitely some staple items!!
