Painted Jar

Leftover latex wall paint lines the interior of this reused marmalade jar, making it opaque and highlighting the subtle details in the shape of the jar.

To make this - you will need a clean jar. Pour a small amount of paint inside of it and swirl it around - gently tipping the jar to bring the paint evenly over the entire interior of the jar. Let it dry for about a day.

Use this for holding pens on your desk - or a collection of feathers. If using as a vase - insert a paper cup inside to hold the water - then place flowers in that. If you let water stand in this for too long - the paint will separate from the glass.

I’m listening to Weezer today.

I love these projects that take under 20 minutes. I’m trying to dream up other painted glass projects myself. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Camilla, did you use just regular latex paint? Or something else?

Hi Sara, Yes – I had some left over after painting my daughter’s room – thought I’d experiment 🙂 Thanks for commenting – C
