Tiny Trees

Clippings from artificial garland are stuck into wine and champagne corks to make these tiny evergreen trees.

You'll need corks, wire cutters, a screw and artificial garland (I got my garland at Michael's for $1.99).

Using a screw - make a hole in the top of a cork. Cut a branch off of the garland and stick it into the hole. Get the kids to help with this one - they'll love it.

Cut some bases in half and leave some tall to create variation. I'm setting a few of these aside for my daughter's dollhouse.

I plan on using these as favors on each plate for our Christmas Eve dinner.

Three tiny trees are tucked into a vintage chamagne glass that is filled with uncooked rice.

A small winter scene to set on a cocktail tray for an evening get together with friends.

If you're interested in a different silhouette - give your tree a trim. A few snips with a pair of scissors and this tree was easily reshaped.

Today I remembered that I love this song.

    Thanks, what a great idea! I run a mothers’ & toddlers’ playgroup and am always looking for a simple new craft activity for the under 4 year olds, especially at Christmas. This willl be perfect.

    Thank you for sharing – these are lovely decorations, and so easy to make.
    Just a bit of pre-planning to get corks etc ready – and greenery of any sort will work, I should think.
