Give your Valentine a puffed heart of gold made from a paper grocery bag…
At first glance this looks like a hammered metal heart, but it is made from a paper grocery bag.
A little something interesting to place on a mantel or desk.
Cut two hearts of the same size from a paper grocery bag. Crumple up paper hearts into a ball and then smooth straight again; this creates an interesting texture.
Stitch paper hearts together using the surge function on your sewing machine. Leave a 2-inch opening so you can stuff your heart. If you don't own a sewing machine you could hand stitch, glue or even staple the edges closed.
Stuff your heart with cotton batting, shredded paper or leftover fabric pieces (anything to give it dimension).
Run heart through machine again to close the opening.
Cover both sides with a few light coats of gold spray paint.
Thread a large needle with jute and pull it through the top of the heart to create a loop for hanging.

Oh, that is a cool texture! It makes me wonder if other shapes could work too. Like a toy sword shape or a toy airplane.
