A canvas cover in the shape of a vase gives a jelly jar a quick makeover.
To make this vase cover - take a jar or bottle, lay in on top of a piece of canvas fabric and sketch out the vase shape you would like (make sure the bottom of your shape is wide enough to fit over the bottle or jar you are covering). Cut out your shape, then pin it to another piece of canvas to cut out a duplicate. Serge the top and bottom edges of each piece. With marked side facing in, pin the two pieces together and serge the sides shut.
Place the cover over your bottle. The stiffness of the canvas and the support of the bottle within it will allow for this cover to stand with a great deal of shape to it.
While I was making my vase covers, my older daughter grabbed an old pair of pajama bottoms and cut them up to make a jacket for her little sister's doll. We talked and listened to her music of choice - The Ting Tings.
I’ve never met a child that didn’t like The Ting Tings.

I really like that idea! Oh, the wheels are turning now…I’m thinking of embellishments as well…for Thanksgiving. Thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks Bonnie! I’ve made some of these in white and let my kids decorate them with fabric markers – they loved it. Take care, C

I LOVE The Ting Tings! And this idea too, of course.
