I picked up this vase for a few bucks at a resale shop – I loved the shape and color – but didn’t really care for the message it carried. So, this idea was born.
A dowdy vase is turned into something a bit cooler for my desk. I cut out the back pocket from a pair of old jeans, embroidered a heart on it and hot glued it to the front of the vase.

Cut out jean pocket, draw your design onto the denim with a chalk pencil and start stitching. I used a simple backstitch.
Using a hot glue gun, attach pocket to vase. This pocket could hold a few business cards.
You could use this for flowers too.
