That time between Halloween and Thanksgiving can be frustrating when it comes to decorating the home. It’s hard to hold back on Christmas. I’ve made the mistake of pulling that trigger too soon and by the time the 25th arrives I can’t pack up the tree fast enough — it gets old fast. Here is a shot of our fall mantel – something that bridges the gap between now and Thanksgiving and can be quickly adjusted to fit for Christmas.
A 30-inch grapevine wreath (Michaels, $15.00) created the perfect base for my look. I added a strand of carved wood string lights (World Market, $17.00) and tucked in a handful of dried oak leaves from our yard.
I'm thinking I will change the lights out and replace the oak leaves with evergreen clippings when I start to get the house ready for Christmas. Instead of pumpkins, I'll add potted evergreens.
I picked up the yarn-wrapped deer at TJMaxx ($20.00). This guy can hang around throughout the winter months.
