Turns out chopsticks make pretty good knitting needles.

To make the ends pointy, I sharpened the chopsticks in a pencil sharpener.

I was able to teach my daughters some knitting basics on these.

Quickly sharpen the ends of your chopsticks until the ends are pointed, but blunt - a few cranks should do it.
