Paintbrush Vase

Here’s a quick trick for making a one-of-a-kind vase using rubber bands and paintbrushes.

An ordinary jar that once held olives is wrapped in old paintbrushes to form a different kind of vase.

You'll need a lot of paintbrushes, a jar and some rubber bands. If you don't happen to have enough paintbrushes on hand - try your local dollar store - mine sells packages of 12 for under $2.00, or you can check online. Get a bag of rubber bands at Office Depot.

Stretch 3 or more rubber bands over jar and tuck paintbrushes in all the way around.

Have you considered used brushes with paint stains?

Yes – believe it or not – the brushes I used for this are used – mostly with water color paints – so they’re not showing their wear. But, I agree – a bunch of big brushes with oil paint remains would look fantastic. Thanks!
