At less than 4-inches tall, this succulent plant in a small pewter cup (resale find, $2.00) makes a lovely hostess gift. It's something more personal -- they can place it on their desk or bedside table.

I love tiny potted succulents (I got mine at Home Depot for a few dollars).

Check resale shops and garage sales for small vessels and start stocking up so you have a little collection you can pull from as needed.
