Working on my shim planter got me thinking about using those wood slivers in other ways…
Turns out, shims make great wreaths too.
A pack of 8-inch cedar shims (I got mine at The Home Depot, a 12-pack costs less than $2.00), a glue gun, hazelnuts and a ribbon are all you'll need to make this wreath.
Hot-glue the shims together to create a wreath form (make sure it's symmetrical).
Hot-glue hazelnuts to your wooden wreath form (just the center square).
Pull a ribbon through an opening in the back of the shim wreath and it's ready to hang.
