I can’t stop working with wood shims – they are my new favorite crafting material…
These shim stars are quite easy to make -- the kids can help.
For this project you will need: wood shims (I used long and short, Home Depot) and a glue gun.
Just glue the shims together to create a burst or star shape - so easy, these take a few minutes to make.
I prefer to leave these natural, but you could paint or stain them if you like. Also, you could have the kids draw on a design with markers or decorate with glitter, pinecones, buttons, etc..
You could hang one on your front door too.
You could spray paint these gold or silver - anything goes!
I added a battery-operated light set to my burst.
