I cut a sheet of black lace to fit perfectly against the screen panel in my front door. A quick Halloween trick that thrilled my kids like crazy.
Perfect for greeting trick-or-treaters at the door.
Looks cool from the inside too.
To create this look, I cut out a piece of black lace (sold by the yard at fabric stores) that was the same size as our screen. Using a thin needle and black thread, I made small stitches at each corner to tack the lace to the screen. The great part about this is that it only takes a few snips of a scissor to release it when I am tired of it.
This really is a great look - almost as if I stenciled the screen with paint - it definitely tricks the eye.
Can’t get this song out of my head today.

Oh my goodness gracious! What an awesome idea! I really want to try this and I have some black lacey kind of fabric that I bought years ago that would be perfect!
