Any soft sock works, we used a fluffy fleece one.
Slip the sock on your hand, and place under warm or cool running water (whichever would be more soothing for your pet), squeeze out excess water and gently run the damp sock over fur. This is great for the mouth area and getting muddy paws clean after playing outdoors.
Our dog loves this - she yawns and her eyes begin to close when my daughter grooms her this way. It's an activity that is relaxing and bonding for both pet and owner.
When you're done, just throw the sock in the wash. Inexpensive socks like this can be found at Old Navy and Target. You could also use a mitten.
