Crushed Can Planter

I was in the mood for something different and fun for my dining room table and this was perfect. For this project, I just hammered in the can, gave it a few coats of paint and filled with soil and Daffodil bulbs.

It's uncanny - they almost look like they're made out of paper.

Place cans on protected, sturdy surface and hammer away.

Paint with a few coats of left over house paint - or you could use a few sample size paints (available near the paint chips at any home improvement store).

I’m listening to Bob Marley today.

These look great! I usually use plain silver tins as vases but now I’m inspired to start painting them!

Whoa!! I love the crunched can look. How do you think of these ideas? And I love the idea of forcing a little spring in the house.

Hey, first time here and I love your blog. So many simple yet elegant ideas. Just wondering what is the brand and name of the lilac color on the smaller can. Looks just the perfect color for my laundry room… so fresh.

    Thanks, Kate

Hi Kate, Thanks for stopping by – thanks for your kind comments! That color is a Martha Stewart Brand – Aegean Blue (available at Home Depot) – it is available in a 8OZ sample size – so you can test it. Take Care, Camilla

These are great! I have my first lot drying upside down on empty wine bottles! I can see these as great gifts for my little ones teachers at Easter.
Also, I think I maybe able to organise my study with the addition of these cuties!!!
