This is a great project to work on with an older child ( 8+ years). Camp programs and trips to the pool or the beach will keep this bag in good use this summer.

I picked up this package of crocheted flowers at IKEA for about $7.00.
This package of appliques (found in the fabric section at IKEA) comes with threads of the same color - just sew them right on. We added buttons to give a little bit more visual interest to our design.
