Bootleg Vase

This is really recycled - a coffee can and part of an old pair of jeans make up this vase. I love to add surprising textures to my designs.

You'll need an old pair of jeans, a coffee can and some fabric glue for this. Start by cutting off about 14 inches from the bottom of the leg of your jeans.

Cut out the small coin pocket from your jeans, trimming closely all around, but leaving a small extra flap at the opening of the pocket.

You'll need a large metal coffee can (but only if you're using a larger jean. My husband just happened to be tossing these jeans at the same time we ran out of coffee. A smaller can will need a more narrow jean leg.)

Fold down the remaining top flap underneath the pocket and glue the pocket to your jean leg - using fabric glue (available at Michael's). Slip jean leg over coffee can and roll down top and tuck under the bottom.

If you're giving this as a gift - you could tuck a card into the pocket.

I’m listening to Maroon 5 a lot lately.

A-dor-a-ble! The pocket is the coolest part.
