This Valentine's Day project makes a fun and unusual gift.
To make this just paint a can with a few coats of latex paint, pierce a design into the surface using a hammer and nail and pull embroidery thread through the holes with a needle. This can be used to hold pens on a desk – or drop a paper cup inside and fill with flowers.
I love the idea! Quick tip: if you put water in the can and let it freeze before hammering the holes, the can won’t bend as much. 🙂

What a good idea! Unique and crafty..I love it!
Great idea. To keep can from bending when you hammer the design… Fill with water and freeze. Your nail goes thru the ice and there is no bending.
