Wood Shim Christmas Trees

Here I am working with those wood shims again! This time, I’m making small trees…

A couple packages of small wood shims (home improvement stores, less than $2.00 for a package of 12) and a glue gun are all you need to make this rustic little Christmas Tree.

Start out by hot-gluing together 12 shims; narrow end at the top, keep your base flat. I placed a dab of glue near the top of each shim.

After you have glued your 12 shims together, add a dab of glue to one more and insert it right into the center of your tree.

Since I glued the shims together at the top only, the final shim (the trunk) easily slides in.

To create the base, I glued together two shims -- put opposite ends together so the base is straight.

Hot-glue tree to base.
