Button-Down Vase

Here’s more you can make with leftover shirt pieces from the previous project…

The front center placket on a menswear shirt (where the shirt sides join to be buttoned) was cut off the shirt and buttoned together to hold small glass votives in place for a simple centerpiece.

Cut out the placket with the buttons and the button holes. Button both parts together and trim the ends.

Insert glass votives in between buttons.

Fill each votive with water.

Add flowers.

    BRILLIANT and adorable!!

    I just cut up a bunch of shirts making tents for my boys and used those strips to cover staples, but I looove your idea better because the buttons are actually working! Form meets Function in a new way – fabulous!
